Stephen Colbert Calls Snoop Dogg Some Asshole for NFT

On March 11, 2021 Stephen Colbert cracked a joke at the expense of Snoop Dogg concerning an NFT (Some Asshole) Snoop purchased by XCOPY. It is unknown if Stephen knows who @CosomoMedici is. Perhaps in a future show we will find out, perhaps the next time Snoop Dogg finds himself on the show.

The art is a well known CryptoArt piece by XCOPY from 2018 called Some Asshole on SuperRare.

Full video segment is on YouTube below. He says “IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT IN JUST ONE YEAR, WE’VE GONE FROM01:06HAVING NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TO HAVING NO IDEA WHY THEY ARE.”.

Stephen makes fun of the popularity of PFP Personal For Profile images sold as NFTs and the high prices people are paying. But then jumps to other NFTs that are classified as art such as The Merge by Pak @muratpak and Some Asshole by XCOPY.

Stephen then says “AND THIS ANIMATED ONE, BOUGHT FOR $3.8 MILLION, TITLED “SOME (BLEEP). NAMED, OF COURSE, FOR WHOEVER BOUGHT IT”

Then a less than funny segment follows about a NFT Heist movie. Where a line is said “NO DOUGH IN VAN GOGH.” Does the show know about Vincent VanDough.

There was chatter on Twitter about the segment with a few comments by Cozomo de’ Medici

Bård Ionson is a CryptoArtist who also shows NFT art on SuperRare. Find more about Bard on his website.
